Overview
The 10th annual Miracle Holiday Classic will be held December 20th-22nd.
The tenth annual Miracle Holiday Classic is set to take place from Friday, Dec. 20 to Sunday, Dec. 22 in the historic Lake Placid Olympic Center, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The youth hockey tournament welcomes 10U, 12U, and 14U teams divided into A and B Divisions categorized under Tier II and III. Each team is guaranteed four games, with champions taking home gold medals and a tournament banner. Medals will also be awarded to second- and third-place teams. Secure a spot in the Miracle Holiday Classic with a tournament fee of $1,375.

Rules
TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS – 10U, 12U & 14U
TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OR ADAPT ANY TOURNAMENT RULE AT ANY GIVEN TIME.
GAME RULES
USA Hockey rules will govern play at all times unless otherwise noted below.
Absolutely NO ROSTER CHANGES from the submitted tournament and USA Hockey Rosters can be accepted without consent from tournament officials. If an accepted roster modification is allowed, a proper USA Hockey roster must be re-submitted.
Home team will wear light colored jerseys and visitors will wear dark colored jerseys except when a team only has one color, in which case they must let the other team know as soon as they arrive for the game. Failure to notify the other team will result in the team wearing vests and getting a delay of game minor to start the game.
GAME TIMING RULES
- All games will consist of three 12-minute stop time periods with a 3-minute warm-up.
- If there is an 8 or more goal differential at any time during the game, running time will ensue for the remainder of the game regardless of score changes and will only stop for injuries.
- If there is a 5 or more goal differential at any time in the third period, running time will ensue for the remainder of the game regardless of score changes and will only stop for injuries.
- THERE ARE NO TIMEOUTS DURING ANY GAME
- There will be no overtime until the 3rd/4th place and gold/silver medal games.
- Teams must be ready to take the ice 15 minutes ahead of schedule. If the tournament is running ahead of schedule and a team is not on the ice at the end of warm-up they will start the game with a minor penalty for delay of game.
- All teams should be on the bench and ready to take the ice immediately upon the Zamboni leaving the ice. The warm-up time will start when the Zamboni doors close. (The exception to this is when the tournament photographer is taking team pictures at which time the warm-up time will start 1-minute after the last picture is taken.)
PENALTIES & DISCIPLINE
- 10U & 12U: 1-minute minor, 3-minute major, 6-minute misconduct
- 14U: 2-minute minor, 5-minute major, 10-minute misconduct
- Players are NOT allowed to leave the penalty box between periods.
TOURNAMENT POINT SYSTEM
- Teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.
- There will be no overtime until the 3rd/4th place and gold/silver medal games.
TIE BREAK PROCEDURE
- Head-to-Head (2 teams only)
- Most wins
- Least goals allowed in all games
- Fewest penalty minutes (game misconducts count as 30 minutes)
- Quickest goal scored in the tournament
- Coin flip
(If a 3-team tie occurs, the above procedure is used going straight down the list an not returning to the top at any time.)
OVERTIME PROCEDURE
- 1st overtime is 4v4 plus goalies
- 2nd overtime is 3v3 plus goalies
- 3rd overtime is 2v2 plus goalies
- 4th and subsequent overtimes are 1v1 plus goalies
- All overtimes are 2-minutes running time with changes ON THE FLY ONLY.
- Any penalty in overtime is a penalty shot.
- All overtimes are sudden death.
