Overview

The 2026 ACHA Fall Faceoff Invitational will consist of 36 games played over three days and feature six Men’s Division I teams, six Men’s Division II teams, four Men’s Division III teams, as well as four teams each from Women’s Divisions I and II.

Each team participating in the 2026 ACHA Fall Faceoff Invitational will play three games at the world-renowned Olympic Center in Lake Placid, home of the legendary “Miracle on Ice” from the 1980 Winter Olympics, where Team USA captured gold and inspired a nation.

The six ACHA Men’s Division I teams participating in the 2026 ACHA Fall Faceoff Invitational are Davenport University, Drury University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Missouri State University, North Carolina State University, and University of Utah.  Representing ACHA Men’s Division II at the event are Lindenwood University, Michigan State University, Siena University, University of Tampa, Virginia Tech, and Weber State University.  Rounding out the men’s teams at the event are four ACHA Men’s Division III teams:  Central Maine Community College, Grand Canyon University, Oakland University, and Sacred Heart University.

The four ACHA Women’s Division I teams participating in the 2026 ACHA Fall Faceoff Invitational are University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Michigan, Penn State University, and University of Utah.  Finally, the four teams from ACHA Women’s Division II at the inaugural event are Ohio State University, Providence College, United States Naval Academy and University of St. Thomas.

In coordination with the Lake Placid Conference & Visitors Bureau and the Olympic Regional Development Authority, we have secured primary hotel options for participating teams.

Transportation Information

Charter availability will become limited due to peak foliage tourism. Early action is strongly recommended.

Travel Options

Bus from campus:

  • Recommended if geographically feasible.
  • The three primary hotels listed above have bus parking availability (some other local properties do not).

Fly-In Options:

  • Albany, NY (approx. 2–2:15 hrs)
  • Burlington, VT (approx. 2.5 hrs via Lake Champlain)
  • Plattsburgh, NY (approx. 1 hr; smaller airport)
  • Montreal, QC (approx. 2.25 hrs; border crossing time not included)

Teams flying may:

  • Charter a bus and retain it for the duration of the Invitational, or
  • Arrange round-trip transfers (airport drop-off/pick-up only).

The primary hotels are within walking distance of the rinks. We are working toward securing dedicated locker room access for each team and will confirm shortly.

Entry Fee

Payment options:

  • One full payment of $1,000 due by August 1, 2026
  • Two payments of $500 (both completed by August 1, 2026)

Online payment is also available via the ACHA Store (convenience fees apply). Splitting payments may assist with fiscal year considerations.

Entry fees are to be made to the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The Olympic Center is not accepting entry fees on behalf of the tournament.
