Maintenance Assistant Third Shift
Job Summary:
The Olympic Center in Lake placid is looking to hire a Maintenance Assistant for the third shift. Hours of work would be 11pm to 7am and this will be full time employment. Successful Candidate would be working with 1 -2 other staff, and one would be their immediate supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance Assistant are responsible for operating a variety of self-propelled equipment as well as construction, operations, repair, and maintenance of equipment., Successful candidates will perform a variety of jobs including minor laboring tasks, general maintenance, Sweeping, Mopping and general cleaning. Nights, weekends and holiday work will be required. Applicants should have at least one year’s experience related to the above and possession of a valid/clean New York State Driver’s License.
Skills and Qualifications:
Successful candidates will need to be self-motivated as this job may require you to be working alone at times. Needs to be able to do rounds of the building and check the machine room during the overnight hours.
Wage/Salary:
Entry rate of $20.39. The Olympic Authority offers an excellent benefit package including paid leave (vacation, holiday, sick and personal leave); participation in the NYS and Local retirement system; health, dental, and vision insurance; and optional participation in NYS Deferred Compensation.

Senior Ticket/Box Office Associate
Job Summary:
The Senior Ticket/Box Office Associate at the Olympic Center is responsible for managing ticket sales, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth box office operations. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the customer experience and supporting event operations. The Senior Ticket/Box Office Associate reports to the Sales Supervisor and collaborates closely with the Business Manager and other departments to achieve sales targets and maintain operational standards. Weekend and holiday work will be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Regular duties include, but are not limited to:
- Box Office Operations Management
- Perform daily ticket sales operations to ensure smooth functioning and adherence to policies..
- Monitor ticket inventory and coordinate with event organizers to ensure availability.
- Maintain box office layout and systems to optimize efficiency and customer experience.
- Customer Service Management
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and issues professionally.
- Financial Responsibilities
- Conduct daily cash-outs and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Implement loss prevention strategies and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Event Coordination
- Assist with on-site event operations, including ticket scanning and customer assistance.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to support event operations.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Support the overall responsibilities of the Sales and Box Office, Guest Services, and venue operations.
- Perform miscellaneous support duties as requested by the Sales Supervisor and Business Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ticket sales, customer service, or administrative roles, preferably in a similar environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to stay calm and resolve customer and staff issues in a rational and proactive manner.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience in the sports or entertainment industry.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems and software.
- Experience with cash management and financial reconciliations.
- Supervisory or management experience.
Wage/Salary:
This position is identified as a Grade 13 on the ORDA/CSEA schedule with an entry rate of $19.96 per hour

CLEANERS
Cleaners’ duties are janitorial in nature (sweeping, mopping, general cleaning, disinfecting, etc.) Successful candidates will also perform other labor-oriented duties as assigned. Nights, weekends and holiday work will be required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and physically able to perform manual labor including lifting up to 100 lbs. Staff required to work evening/night shifts and/or holidays receive premium pay.
COMPENSATION: Entry rate of $20.39. MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Maintenance Assistant/Equipment Operators are responsible for operating a variety of self-propelled equipment as well as construction, operations, repair, and maintenance of equipment. Under the direction of the Olympic Center General Manager, successful candidates will perform a variety of jobs including minor laboring tasks, general maintenance, as well as operation of heavy equipment. In addition to operating a Zamboni, the successful candidate may operate front-end loaders, road-graders, tractor mowers, and snowplows. Nights, weekends and holiday work will be required. Applicants should have at least one year’s experience related to the above and possession of a valid/clean New York State Driver’s License appropriate for the type of vehicle operated. Maintenance Assistants/Equipment Operators are classified as a Grade 13 on the ORDA/CSEA schedule with an entry rate of $20.39 per hour, plus benefits as defined under the CSEA contract. Premium pay for evening/night work as well as work on holidays.
