Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton returns to Lake Placid for Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Frozen 5K on the James C. Sheffield Olympic Oval Feb 22nd, from 4pm to 6pm!
Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ is the nationwide peer-to-peer fundraiser for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES). In partnership with U.S. Figure Skating as well as clubs and ice facilities, registered fundraising participants are signing up to make a difference. Countless individuals have been touched by cancer and it is our mission to Turn Cancer Upside Down™ together!

Register for $35 and receive your Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ t-shirt! Fundraise for cancer research and receive items from our new recognition program! All registered participants are invited to participate in our Frozen 5k with Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton on Saturday, February 18th from 4-6pm on James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. Skate 13 laps on the Olympic Oval to honor those you know who’ve been impacted by cancer
Day of Saturday, February 22nd, from 4-6pm on the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval at the Lake Placid Olympic Center:
- FREE to registered Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ participants
- $20 Day-Of Registration (doesn’t include a t-shirt)
- Skate Rental is Available for $10 per person
Proceeds of the event benefit the Scott Hamilton Cares Foundation and Adirondack Health. The Olympic Authority and Olympic Center are the venue rental for the event.
